Daniel Gauger (principal) began work as a carpet installer's helper more than 50 years ago at age 14. He worked for his father's company for a decade before beginning his own company at age 24.

Over the next few decades, Mr. Gauger's company grew his business and began to specialize in custom area rugs. In time, Mr. Gauger learned the art of bas-relief carpet sculpturing and became one of, if not, the best in the world.

Later, Mr. Gauger's company expanded its specialty work to include fabricating high-end historic recreation rugs for many of the famous historic sites in the area. Today, Prism Carpets is owned and operated by Dan's daughter, Laura, who brings the same high-end custom quality & value that Prism Carpets has built its reputation on.
