Hello, my name is Laura Blizzard, owner of Prism Carpets, a second-generation, family-owned custom carpet workroom and installation company based in Maryland.

Founded in the 1980s by my father, Daniel Gauger, Prism Carpets has grown from a small barn in the Hereford Zone, N. Baltimore County, to one of the top high-end custom workrooms in the country. All fabrication is done in-house, allowing us to maintain exceptional quality and craftsmanship on every project.

We proudly serve a wide region—including Washington D.C., N. Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York—and have completed installations for prestigious clients such as the White House, Blair House, Mediterranean yachts, and executives from major companies and sports teams.

As a small business, we offer the kind of personalized service larger companies can’t match. Our team specializes in hand-binding and serging, and we work with all types of specialty carpets, including:

We clean, repair, resize, and stain-protect area rugs.

We can source carpet from nearly any vendor and also accept designer-supplied materials delivered directly to our warehouse.
